Youth Vaping Information Session for Parents and Caregivers - Dunnville Branch
On Wednesday, October 21st at 6:00 p.m., members of the public are invited to the Dunnville Branch of the Haldimand County Public Library for a free information session by Grand Erie Public Health on youth vaping for parents and caregivers.
The session is meant to help parents and caregivers better understand youth vaping and how to support young people in making healthy choices.
This free, drop‑in presentation will cover:
- The health effects of vaping
- How to have open, supportive conversations with youth about vaping
- Where youth can find trusted information, resources, and support
This is a drop‑in event. Registration is not required.
Overdue Cinema Club- Caledonia, Hagersville, and Cayuga Branch
Discover something new at The Overdue Cinema Club—a monthly film‑viewing group where adults can sit back, relax and enjoy great storytelling on screen.
Everyone is welcome to attend this free drop-in activity to watch a thoughtfully selected film and share in the experience of discovering new perspectives, ideas, information and voices.
No registration is required - just come as you are and enjoy the show!

Free Crochet Workshop and Social - Caledonia
Bring your crochet or knitting projects to the Caledonia Branch every Tuesday starting October 6th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and enjoy dedicated time to work, relax, and connect with fellow yarn enthusiasts.
Looking for a little guidance? Jacelyn Burtis, owner of Marlow and Oak, will be available to help with crochet projects.

Community Puzzles - Caledonia and Hagersville Branches
Calling all puzzle lovers!
Community members of all ages who enjoy puzzles are invited to stop by the Hagersville or Caledonia branches and help complete a large community jigsaw puzzle.
A Community Puzzle is a drop‑in activity that encourages everyone to work together to complete a puzzle over time. The puzzle will remain out until it is finished, so visit the branch anytime it is open and add a piece (or twenty!). Once it’s complete, we will display the completed one and put out a new one.
How to Participate
- Visit either participating branch and look for the Community Puzzle station:

- Caledonia: located by the Cookbooks

- Choose a piece and add it to the puzzle—every piece helps build the bigger picture.
- Enjoy the process and take part in an activity that brings the community together.

Grab and Go! Bundles available in all branches starting September 8th
In a hurry? Not sure what to borrow next? Then our Grab and Go bundles might be just what you need.
Beginning Tuesday, September 8, the Haldimand County Public Library will offer Grab and Go bundles at all six branch locations. These pre‑selected bundles make choosing materials quick and easy, with options available from both our children’s and adult collections.
Each bundle includes 3 to 7 carefully chosen items—books, movies, magazines, graphic novels, and more—ready for you to “grab and go.”
How to Borrow
- Visit the designated Grab and Go area in any branch.
- Choose a bundle (or bundles!) that interest you. Every bundle has a tag describing the bundle, for example: British Mysteries or Counting Books.
- Bring the entire bundle to the circulation desk
- Staff will check the items out on your library card, and you’re all set to enjoy them at home.
Bundles will be refreshed regularly in every branch, so be sure to take a look each time you visit.
